Carnival Party & Pancake Day

February 25, 2022 10.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.

There will be a parade, games, music and afternoon tea.

Children should come to school already dressed up in their Carnival Costumes, for that reason there will be tolerance for late arrivals.

In the afternoon we will have the award ceremony, bingo, karaoke and traditional games.

Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is a special day celebrated in many countries around the world. It is celebrated in English-speaking countries like the UK, Ireland, Australia and Canada. In France, the USA and other countries, it is called ‘Mardi Gras’ or ‘Fat Tuesday’. In others like Spain, Italy or Brazil, Shrove Tuesday is at the end of Carnival. On this day many people eat pancakes: thin, flat cakes made in a pan.

To keep up the tradition, we kindly ask parents to send 4 pancakes per pupil so that we can all eat them for tea in the afternoon!
